This neckwarmer is lightweight but oh so very warm. While the puff stitches give the cowl its softness and femininity the cable stitch border gives it its firm and strong shape.

Instruction
Ch 26 ( this is the width of the cowl)
Row 1- 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each next 24 ch (25 sc)
Ch 2 at beginning of every row counts as 1 hdc
Row 2 (Right Side)- ch 2, 1 hdc in each next 2 st, (ch 1, skp 1 st, pfs in next st, ch 1, sk next st, 1 hdc in each next 5 st) 2 times, ch 1, sk 1 st, pfs in next st, ch 1, sk next st, 1 hdc in last 3 st, ch 2 turn
Row 3- 1 hdc in each next 2 st, (pfs in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next pfs, pfs in next ch 1 sp, 1 hdc in each next 5 st) 2 times, pfs in next ch 1 sp, ch 1, sk next pfs, pfs in next ch 1 sp, 1 hdc in each next 2 st, 1 hdc in 2 nd ch of ch 2, ch 2 turn

Repeat (Row 3- 4 ) 34 Times or to the desired length. Ch 2 at end of last row and turn work to length of cowl
Cowl border
Now you will be working on the length of the cowl
Row 1- work 1 hdc around each hdc and turning chain. ( make sure to have an even number of dc, decrease or increase if need be), ch 2 turn
Row 2- *(1 bpdc, 1 hdc), repeat from * across, ch 2 turn
Row 3- *(1 fpdc on bpdc of previous row, 1 hdc in next hdc), repeat from * across
Repeat Row 2-3 turn
If you like to have a more snug cowl you can decrease by skipping 1 hdc between 2 bpdc and bpdc together those 2 bpdc. Do the same on the fpdc rows (fpdc together 2 fpdc while skipping the hdc)
Join 2 width of rectangle to form the cowl ( join with slip stitches, single crochet or your method of choice) Fasten off
