The Snow Trail Cowl/Neckwarmer – Free Pattern by Hookoflove

This neckwarmer  is lightweight but oh so very warm. While the puff stitches give the cowl its softness and femininity the cable stitch border gives it its firm and strong shape.

Cowl border

Now you will be working on the length of the cowl

Row 1- work 1 hdc around each hdc and turning chain.  ( make sure to have an even number of dc, decrease or increase if need be), ch 2 turn

Row 2- *(1 bpdc, 1 hdc), repeat from * across, ch 2 turn

Row 3- *(1 fpdc on bpdc of previous row, 1 hdc in next hdc), repeat from * across

Repeat Row 2-3 turn

If you like to have a more snug cowl you can decrease by skipping 1 hdc between 2 bpdc and bpdc together  those 2 bpdc. Do the same on the fpdc rows (fpdc together 2 fpdc while skipping the hdc)

Join  2 width of rectangle to form the cowl ( join with slip stitches, single crochet or your method of choice) Fasten off
