A very easy to make shawl, warm and elegant. Love the tie dye look
size is about: 46 long, width is 28 inches on the widest part and 4 inches on the narrowest
What you need
2 skeins of Loops & Threads Impeccable. Color Seaside
6 mm hook
Abbreviations
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
st = stitch
sk = skip
sp = space
beg. = beginning
How to work it
chain 4
row 1 – 4 dc in 4th ch from hook. Turn
row 2 – ch 3, 1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, 1 dc on 3rd ch of beg, ch 3
row 3 – ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 dc on beg ch 3
row 4 – ch 3, 1 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc in ch 3. Turn
row 5 – ch 3, 2 dc, in same st, 1 dc, 1 dc in ch 3
Note: increases are done on the same side. When you finish with an increase and turn your work, you will increase on that side. The Chain space is always on the opposite side
row 6 – is different from previous row. No more chain 1 space.
ch 3, 1 dc, 1 dc in ch 1 space, 7 dc, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in ch 3
put a marker on the 6th double crochet of the beginning of this row. The chain 3 always counts as a double crochet . In the following row (in this case row 7) you will not work those 6 dc. This is what creates the dented look of the tail.
Turn
row 7 – ch 3, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc, 2 dc in next st, 3 dc, ch 1, sk 1 dc, 2 dc. Turn
row 8 – ch 3, 1 dc, ch 1, 5 dc, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc on top of ch 3. Turn
row 9 – ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, 2 dc in same st, 7 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 dc on ch 3. Turn
row 10 – ch 3, 1 dc, ch 1, 9 dc, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc on ch 3. Turn
row 11 – ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc, 2 dc in same st, 11 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 dc on ch 3.
put a marker on the 6th double crochet of the beginning of this row. You will do this after completing 5 rows after the marker

Keep on working this pattern until you reached the desired length of the scarf.
What to keep in mind
chain 3 counts as a double crochet. when increasing at a end of a row, work on the last 4 stitches this way: 2 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st. When increasing at the beg of a row, ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in same st.
move the marker after every 5 row. On the next row put a double crochet on the chain 1 space, do your increase pattern in the 4 stitches before the marker and turn
